The "Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia" is one of the most famous compositions by Soviet composer Aram Khachaturian (1903-1978). The "Adagio" is a piece from his ballet "Spartacus", which he composed in 1954. It appears in the second act of the ballet, when the two lovers celebrate their escape from Roman captivity.
